Our bodies are designed to give us the energy and the physical strength to make it through a day. We should be able to do not only what we need to do, but we want to do before we hit the pillow at night. I am saddened by too many stories of individuals who get off work just to sit in front of the television because they are too physically or mentally exhausted to want to do more.
Two of the biggest factors in this equation are your gut and your thyroid. We are what we eat as the old adage goes. When we consistently place soda, fast food, sugar, bad fats, desserts, and processed chemicals into our system, our body goes into hibernation. We feel a need to eat more, do less, just get by, and sleep. We need real, live, raw, natural, and fresh foods to give us life and energy.
Your thyroid regulates how quickly you use your body’s energy storages which a great deal is fat. The weaker your thyroid the slower your metabolism and the more you are storing fat as oppose to using it and creating energy. Additional symptoms of thyroid disorder are: difficulty loosing weight, constant tiredness despite sleep, often feels cold, and hair and skin changes.
